The Three Towers

From the Terrific Threesome to the Fabulous Foursome ( remember March 13,2001 - Kolkata) to now, the 'Onerable Onesome ( sounds like TOI,eh ).
The Three remaining Towers have fallen.
Dravid stands tall. And he stands tall because he does not need to lean on the past. He does not have 35 test centuries to his credit, he is not India's most successful captain and he is not a very very special talent. He is India's most dependable player, the most committed and now the Indian captain. If Ganguly is dropped based on his non performance, then the same criteria applies to everyone else. Sachin, VVS, Kumble, Agarkar. Lets face it. Sachin seems past his prime, Laxman is not dependable and the Indian bowling is taken to the cleaners by Akmal,Afridi,Razzak and any body else who is interested.
Dravid is the only man who has the tenacity to carry India into the future. Bring in fresh talent. Open up those heavily bolted doors to the Indian middle order. No pace? Get back to bowling fast( remember Zaheer at 140 kmph taking Steve Waugh's middle stump out?). We have enough spinners. We don't need our 'fast' bowlers to bowl at 120k's. Venky Prasad slower ball is more of a threat than Pathan's bouncer.
I've had enough of heart breaks from Indian cricket. I resign as a devout Indian cricket fan. Im rooting for Bangladesh from now.
Bashar Bashar Bashar!

Kitch,
Can you drop a person based on a single test performance. I agree Sachin is going thru a lean patch, but Delhi was a couple of tests away rt. Ofcourse nobody is standing tall, thats there- but then that was the problem India had always except for a few occasion. He still had that flair in that small innigs of 23 and 26 - A back boot square cut of shoaib and a straight drive punch thru the cover - frankly i thot it was going to the fielder, but it raced to boundary. He is not lost mate, he will be back, I pray. Then VVS, what happened to his 90 the test before, why ignoring that? Was it his problem that he didnt get to bat in the first test ? And Kumble was a master in the SL series. Cmon man you are becoming too pessimist here. Only thing I agree with you is the dropping of pace, some thing should be done with that. "Dravid is the only man who has the tenacity to carry India into the future" - How long is his future ? Another couple of years. I guess you are becoming more Dravidian these days. But deep down the heart I firmly believe he doesn't have that killer instinct as Ganguly had as a captain. I am not a hardcore Dada fan, but definitely one who believes that what has been doen to him is NOT AT ALL fair.

The worst thing indeed is to watch "fast" bowlers
Afridi can bowl faster than that 120 bah!! the slower bowl may never reach the batsman.
boooooooooooring
